Making Life More Accessible, Wheelchair ramps
Adapting to Change Using Accessibility Equipment
From the moment we are born, we engage in a constant state of change. And while we are changing, the world around us changes as well. As humans, we are endowed with an incredible capacity for adapting to change.
Not only do we humans adapt, but we also constantly strive to improve our quality of life. Throughout history, people have continuously invented ways that make our lives safer and easier so that we can live more fully in joy.
At Bullock Access, we stay informed on the newest technologies that help our customers live safer and easier lives. Our stair lifts, platform lifts, barrier-free showers, ramps and overhead track systems are some of the most innovative ways that our customers use to adapt their environments to meet their changing needs.
Recently, we were hired to remove a ramp from a woman’s home that had been installed 10 years ago. At that time, the ramp was perfect in helping her get in and out of her home. But over the years, her vision changed gradually. Due to the narrowness of the original layout and tight turn, her ability to negotiate the turn in her wheelchair made it difficult for her to use the existing ramp. Our solution was to remove that ramp and install a wider ramp which made turning the corner easier.

You can see the change to her environment. Yes, the ramp is more noticeable from the street. But this adaption to her changing needs has allowed her to stay living safely in her beautiful home, along with improving her ability to go out into the world.
If you have noticed a gradual change in your ability to move freely within and around your home, and a decreased ability to come and go from your home, then please let us help you gain back more access. Bullock Access will do a free evaluation of your home and offer our suggestions for adapting to change so that you will have a safer and easier quality of life.
